WARNING - DISTRESSING AND VIOLENT VIDEO. Philip was sent a most distressing video of the murder of two women and children in Cameroon, and whilst not sure of the exact date of the video, Philip would firstly like to advise that this video is indeed shocking, graphic, confronting, horrifying and is brutally violent.
As your Senate Candidate for Western Australia who's standing at our next Federal election, our office is constantly being contacted by numerous people/ groups on many issues, including those effecting my fellow Australians, our country, our National Interest and more concerning our international affairs.
In Australia right now, there is much debate concerning women and childrens rights. As a husband and father to three beautiful children, this video is distressing, particularly how the women were led up the road, with one having her child strapped to her back, and the other woman holding the child's hand.
It's clear the young child didn't know what was about to happen by the way they looked up towards the woman who Philip can only assume was their mother, and then when their face was covered, they tried to remove the shirt only to be told to sit next to the woman.
All four were then brutally executed and to see the women and children in their final moments was something, that you question as a human being how anybody could even contemplate doing this. Atrocities are not new, but as a country we must stand for our values, our convictions, our freedoms and our way of life and these executioners must be immediately arrested and charged accordingly.
Our standing in the world, both at the UN and internationally is that murder and violence must not be tolerated and condemned in the strongest terms. These murderers deserve the same punishment, and in this video they are all identifiable. Whichever dictator, warlord, leader etc is responsible for these individuals (killing squad) must also be held to account and charged with the brutal murder of these four people.
Philip will be asking questions of the Government & DFAT, and would also like to know whether Cameroon is receiving any Australian aid, or if the UN is receiving aid for Cameroon as the person, or person responsible need to be held to account.
To seldom diplomacy gets in the way of doing the right thing, and as a country, we must stand against this. At the same time the bully's and tyrants of this world need to know that the full weight of the international community will deal with these atrocities, as after all history has shown the consequences when atrocities like in this video continue unabated.
Who can forget that under Hitler, an entire race, the Jewish people was nearly extinguished, and then there was the Balkans war and further ethnic cleansing.
As a global citizen, there's no room for intolerance, and Philip for one will defend Australia and his fellow citizens and will never stand for the murder that we now see in this video. It's time to take a stand Australia!
In the final part of this video, the executioners then fired more shots to make sure the women and children were dead, and the final scenes show the first woman (with her child still strapped to her back) both dead with blood coming out from under them, and the second women and child together, albeit the executioner kicked dirt over them.
On his twitter account tonight @P_Couper Philip forwarded this video to the UN, the UN Secretary General, the UN Security Council, our Prime Minister, Foreign Minister, DFAT and the Leader of the Opposition and has asked DFAT to strongly condemn this violence immediately.
Philip's also been advised tonight that Human Rights Watch, BBC Africa and Amnesty International have collated much more information and videos of similar atrocities, particularly by the killing squads in Southern Cameroon, and that this information has now been provided to the UN Security Council. Philip therefore expects the UN Security Council to act.
With all the conflicts and in the world, freedoms and safety are being eroded and millions of people are either being murdered, abused or displaced. The time for diplomacy is over, and the world must act.
