A local West Australian, Philip has been married to Terri for 32 years. As active members of their community, Philip and Terri, together with their children, have devoted their lives to public service, volunteering, and supporting those in crisis, or in need. To Philip, there's nothing more important than his community, and Philip's acutely aware of issues effecting our country, our community, and residents. Philip seeks your assistance to better be able to support you, our community, and is why he says, It's time for change Australia, and to putting Australian's first.
We're Australian and we look after one another.
A local West Australian, Philip has been married to Terri for 32 years and they have 3 children, Joshua (23), Brooke (21) and Mia (13). As an active member of the community, a former President of a local Lions Club for four (4) years; WA State Chairman (201W1) of Lions Leo's, our Lions youth programs; Director of the Australian Lions Drug Awareness Foundation; Director of the WA Lions Drug Education Foundation; Founding Director of Djinda Bridiya Wellbeing Australian Aboriginal Corporation; Director and CFO of The Pantry WA Limited, amongst other Board and Charitable roles, Philip is acutely aware of issues affecting our country, our state, our residents and seeks your help to make a difference in our community.
With the military an important part of his family, Philip joined the Royal Australian Air Force Air Training Corps and underwent flight training and was awarded his wings. Philip is an accomplished pilot endorsed to fly gliders, aeroplanes, and helicopters, and has experience in a variety of civilian and military aircraft.
As a farming family, Philip's grandfather taught him how Australia is a lucky country built off the sheep's back that makes things, and our success is in our people, our industry, our jobs and in the Australian ideals and way of life. Australians look after one another, are there for each other and most importantly, as demonstrated by our ANZAC's, it was very tough to break our resolve and the Aussie spirit.
Philip believes in responsible financial management and is concerned that too much of Australia has been sold off and ordinary Australians are being left behind. Our manufacturing industry has been decimated, our children are unable to afford a home, jobs are becoming scarcer, finances are being hit hard, cost of living, interest rates, energy costs and petrol is rising, and government agencies can and should do more to help everyday Australians.
With significant financial, contractual, and operational experience, and coupled with a background in procurement, energy and projects, Philip was previously employed by BHP Billiton during the $9.2 billion acquisition of WMC Resources Ltd, and later by the Royal Bank of Scotland on the €71.1 billion acquisition of ABN Amro.
Later employed as the Commercial & Contracts Manager for Chevron's Gorgon Project (GUJV), Philip was then recruited by Verve Energy (the Government of Western Australia's Electricity Generator) as their Head of Procurement. Philip is experienced in leading significant infrastructure projects in Australia and abroad, and his expertise in Contracts and Procurement allows him to unlock savings in contracts to directly benefit Governments (Federal, State & Local), Australian Companies and create jobs for all Australians.
Philip believes that as a sovereign country, the sell-off of vital Australian assets to outside influences must immediately stop. Any future decisions on asset ownership must ensure Australia will not be subjected to any potential, or perceived, undue influence from other nations.
It's time for Australia, and for all Australians no matter you are in the world to be considered first, and foremost in everything we do from this moment on.
