Australia Post former $23m man's Melbourne mansion windfall

22nd May, 2018

Former head of Australia Post Ahmed Fahour ("Fahour") was reportedly paid $23 million during his time at the post office, and it's now reported that he is set to double his money by putting his Melbourne mansion up for sale with initial estimates showing he is likely to collect between $40m to $44m for the property.

The amount Fahour was paid was obscene and shows a government business completely out of touch with reality, and was an affront to what is thought acceptable by the Australian people.

There's no reason whatsoever for a salary like this, and particularly whilst everyday Australians continue to suffer. This money could have been better used helping our fellow Australians, i.e. helping reduce the wait of Australians on surgery waiting lists, helping the homeless find accommodation or helping provide education assistants to students in classrooms etc.

Most importantly there are many other examples where this money could have been better spent, instead of on one person managing an Australian Government business. This situation and salary must never be allowed to be repeated.

Were Australian, and we look after one another.

It's time for change Australia, and together we can do it and it's also time Australians are put first.
