Farming is already hard enough, and we have seen recently many examples of our farms being sold off to overseas interests. I remind Australians to spare a thought for our farmers, many of which are currently finding conditions extremely tough whilst they face drought conditions.
We need to remember where our food chain comes from and furthermore if we continue to sell off and/ or damage Australian industry, our farms and our farmers (including our sheep and cattle trade), when push comes to shove our produce will either no longer be available or end up going overseas rather than supporting our economy, our local community, local jobs and ensuring a safe and healthy food chain which benefits all of my fellow Australians.
As a very proud West Australian whose family comes from the farming community (we had farms at Training, Kunnoppin and Carnamah in WA) I for one will do whatever I can to support our farmers, and most importantly protect Australian industry, Australian jobs and our farming communities.
Were Australian, and we look after one another. Let's work together to fix the problem and not jeopardise or damage Australian industry any longer.
It's time for change Australia, and together we can do it.
