ANZAC Day 2018 - Wanneroo RSL ANZAC Day dawn service

24th April, 2018

On ANZAC Day 2018, it was my honour and privilege to be invited, and to be able to attend the Wanneroo ANZAC Day dawn service.

What a great event, and as a very proud Australian, I was very pleased to see so many people in attendance. With WA police estimating that the service attracted approximately 4,000 to 5,000 people, everyone in attendance today helped us remember our service personal who made the ultimate sacrifice whilst fighting to defend our country and our freedoms, and those that continue to do so in many battlefields around the world today.

To my grandfather who is unfortunately no longer with me, I know you are in spirit, no more so than on this ANZAC Day. I'm so proud of you Pop, and all that you have done for our country, and until we meet again, I love and miss you so very much. Thank you also for all you have done for me, for your advice, support and teachings and for making me the man I am today.

To those that made the ultimate sacrifice, on behalf of a grateful nation, and myself personally, I would like to say thank you and know that your nation, our fellow Australians and I are very proud of your service and what you did on behalf of our country. Your sacrifices will never be forgotten.

To those in our defence forces, whether you be stationed at home or abroad, again and on behalf of a grateful nation I would like to say thank you for your service. Your continued service in defence of our country underpins the ANZAC spirit, and please know I am very proud of you.
